New mockumentary from Norway, about the ageing and overweight Basse, who grabs his Gibson guitar and, together with his neighbour, chases after the rock ‘n’ rock dream. On stage, in all manner of half-deserted community centres, he calls himself Big B. Thunder, which unfortunately makes him no less awkward a figure. Raw rock and endearing humour are the mainstays in Robert Næss’ razor-sharp mock-doc., which elegantly raises the bar set by “This is Spinal Tap’.
