SPOT Festival announces 14 new acts

SPOT Festival has just announced 14 artist names to be added to its 2013 lineup. The eclectic mix consists of old favourites and exciting new offerings from the Nordic scene.

Teenage all-female trio Baby In Vain (pictured) claim that stoner rock is not solely a privilege reserved for middle-aged men.

A lot has happened since Kissaway Trail last performed at SPOT in 2010. The band has now become a trio; they ditched “the” from their name and will be releasing a new album in May.

Swedes Simian Ghost play a euphoric indiepop blend. Their recently released album ‘Youth’ has attracted a lot of international attention – including from the likes of Pitchfork and The Guardian.

Another SPOT lineup highlight is Broken Twin, who were recently described by NME as ”the most arrestingly beautiful songwriter we’ve heard in aeons.”

As every year part of the program is curated by a jury comprised of key music journalists and industry professionals: Tina Krüger (Karsten Jahnke booking – Germany), Andreas Gstettner (FM4 Radio – Austria), Nina Legnehed and Steffi von Kannemann (Nordic By Nature – Sweden/Germany), Anders Bøtter (P6 Beat Radio – Denmark), Simon Christensen (Passive/Agressive – Denmark), Signe Palsøe(Undertoner.dk – Denmark) and Bertram Zanjani (Train – Denmark).

The 14 artist names are:
Halasan Bazar (DK/NO/AU/UK)

We Were Born Canaries
Yast (SE)
Kissaway Trail
Bloodgroup (IS)
